The hardest part of it all…

Good morning!  I know it has been a while since I have posted and I don’t even know where to start…these past two weeks have been such a whirlwind. The last I updated you we were heading out on our farewell road trip.   Over the ten day trip we drove through 11 states, slept in six beds, and visited with tons of family and friends.  While we saw as many people as we could squeeze in there are definitely a few family members and friends we missed…to those folks we promise you will be our top priority when we are back to visit in October.  We really appreciate everyone who went out of their way to see us, we are so blessed to have you all in our lives!

We got back to Atlanta last Wednesday with plans to wrap up everything, pack the apartment and throw ourselves a pretty awesome going away party.  The packing never got done, our to-do list has doubled, BUT the party was a success!  I couldn’t believe how many people came by to send us off in style…over large quantities of alcohol, food and catching up.  We have made some amazing friends in Atlanta and will miss everyone dearly.  Having so many people close to us in the same place at the same time really put it all in perspective.  Atlanta will forever hold a special place in my heart and if we don’t end up back here after this adventure we will definitely visit often.

Today we are back on the road, this is by far the hardest part of the entire process.  RG and I are about to get back in the car and drive to Nashville to drop off Marley.  Our very good friends have graciously offered to watch her for the first leg of our trip.  Marley will have another dog to run around with and woods to explore…knowing she will be in great hands makes it a little easier, but it will still be hard.  She has been by our side for three years and has become such an important part of our lives.  I never did understand dog people until I had one for myself.  Now I couldn’t imagine myself without her, but we will be back soon to pick her up!

I will be back to post a little more about our road trip and upload pictures with friends and family that we said goodbye to over these past weeks.  But for today I wanted to focus on Marley…here are some pics of her over the past couple of weeks.  Enjoy!
